Urban e‑grocery click & collect
URBAN E-GROCERY CLICK & COLLECT
Arctan Urban
While e-grocery sale has started to rise, retailers have experienced a serious limitation caused by last-mile solutions. Home delivery allows couriers to transport only 14 orders per day, far below market’s needs.
That’s why we invented a much more effective option – an automated click & collect machine called Arctan Urban.
Why Arctan Urban Rocks?
Smallest footprint on the market
Smallest footprint on the market
Two or three collect & load doors, and two rows of shelves inside the machine allows to have a much higher machine.
Highest capacity
per sq meter
Highest capacity
per sq meter
Thanks to the robot inside, it offers a capacity up to 202 parcels, using limited spaces in a highly efficient way.
Delivery cost reduction
Reducing the delivery cost up to 70%
One courier could deliver 300 orders daily in comparison to 14-25 in home delivery. It significantly decreases delivery costs.
Multi access for
couriers and clients

Two or three collect & load doors and touchscreens allow couriers and consumers to use the machine simultaneously.
Very fast loading & pickup
Very fast loading & pickup
Loading time of one basket is less than 30 sec., collection time of 3 baskets is less than 120 sec., increasing convenience.
Friendly for the planet
Friendly for the planet
Arctan Urban lowers the number of km driven by couriers, decreasing congestion and air pollution in comparison to home delivery.
How does it work?
2-3 independent courier/client interfaces
4-6 QR code readers and optional RFiD tag reader for automatic recognition of the bin identifier in the courier process.
4 - 6 collect and load drawers. The collect / load door in the client mode opens as a drawer, while in the courier mode as a door. All door pairs are used for loading and unloading bins.
2 climate zones (+ 4°C - 18°C)/(39.20° F- 64.40° F)
Flexible freezing storage with 28 or 56 slots (can even fit an American thanksgiving turkey)!

1 courier can deliver:
200-300

thanks to the use of hubs
Multi-brand hubs substantially improve the effectiveness of couriers and vans used.
Thanks to the hub-effect we can immensely lower the number of vans used in the distribution = reduction of CO2 emissions, delivery costs and congestion.
1 courier can be even 20 times more effective!
The bigger the capacity of the hubs, the bigger the positive impact of the model.

Opening of the first multibrand e‑grocery pickup chain in the world
Apart from investing in and developing top of the art robotic solutions – we also invest in building Universal Networks. We do it to fully utilize our potential and speed up market growth.
Delipop is the pioneer on the eGrocery pick-up market in Paris with the “delivery as a service” for the best retailers. By 2025 there are planned 1000 locations in France with the capacity of 200.000 orders daily.
Stephane Legatelois (CEO of Delipop): “Delipop is the first fully automated e‑grocery pickup point network”.
Marek Piotrowski (CMO of Retail Robotics and Delipop): “Delipop was created to meet the growing demand for online shopping and to give customers the best possible experience, and our planet some breath.”
Stephane Legatelois: “Delipop locations can serve multiple consumers at the same time. We also have simultaneous pickup and loading. This is all thanks to our technology partner – Retail Robotics. In the coming future, we plan on developing even more dense and faster solutions to satisfy customers.”
Marek Piotrowski: “Thanks to the hub effect generated by our network – we use 10x fewer cars than traditional delivery to fulfill the same number of orders. That means much lower road traffic, much less CO2 emissions, and cleaner air in the city.”
Delipop Network can generate “savings” of 536,000 trees. That is only in comparison to home delivery.
In comparison to hypermarket shopping – the “savings” are even 3x bigger and comparable to a forest of over 1.8 mln trees!

Arctan Urban at
Carrefour France
In august 2020 in Paris was highlighted by the premiere of a new pick-up option for Carrefour customers buying groceries online. In France, click-and-collect for food shopping is more popular than home delivery. Our first Arctan became available for customers of one of the biggest retailers and got their great applause. Over 90% of Parisians that tested our robotic solution were happy about it and would recommend it. We are getting ready to make this convenient drives accessible to more customers, promoting sustainable lifestyle and providing seamless shopping experience.
Robotic vs classic
Although robotic and classic pickup machines serve the same purpose, their structure is completely different.
The use of a robotic arm inside brings a lot of advantages which make automated click & collect solutions highly efficient for e-grocery, convenient for users and friendly for the environment.

Capacity of 156 logistic bins
Almost impossible to find commercial spaces with capacity to fit in a 25m long machine (!)
Very limited convenience:
Imagine a customer having to pickup bags from 2 opposite corners of the machine. Same for the courier.

Expansion in cities that do not allow outdoor machines
Cooled Lockers
Classic technology
If placed in commercial spaces - would have a limited capacity, not high enough to deliver a “hub effect”
To build a network - you have to search only for places with vast space - like train / subway stations
Arctan
Robotic technology
Thanks to their high capacity they create a “hub effect”, delivering a significant number of orders
Due to their very low commercial footprint and high capacity - can be used to build a vast grocery pickup network in city centers.

Assumptions for the higher number:
1 truck fits ca

Both are much better than

where the average is
12-25
orders per day per courier.
Easy loading
Cooled Lockers
Classic technology
additional loading time
The courier would also have to load 156 bags to a 25m machine – walking back and forth …. and using a lot of strength to load upper lockers.
Arctan
Robotic technology
Usage of standard logistic bins – speeds up loading. No additional handling needed.
The courier needs only to load bins using 1 or 2 interfaces that are next to each other. They are also at a convenient height, which is very important for couriers loading heavy bins.
